Hendrick Hospice Care provides four children and teen grief programs each year.
Children and teens who have experienced a loss are eligible to attend. Losses are varied and could include but are not limited to death, divorce, separation, incarceration and deployment.
Participants of Club Courage and Camp Courage are led through a variety of grief exercises which ultimately build self-esteem, trust and an understanding of the grief process. Specially trained volunteers and counselors facilitate the activities that encourage self-healing and provide an outlet for unexpressed emotions. All programs are offered at no-cost thanks to the generous donation through Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and the Kiwanis Clubs of Texas Midwest. There is a $10 application fee for Camp Courage and Camp Courage JR only.
