 Are you eligible?
Medicaid is available to qualifying Texans of all ages and abilities. There are separate programs for families and children and for people who are elderly or have a disability. You must:
  • be a Texas resident
  • be a U.S. citizen that has been legally admitted for residence
  • meet certain resource and income limits, which vary by eligibility group.
If you meet these basic requirements, you may be eligible for Medicaid.
Do you receive Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
Are you a low-income family with children under age 19.
Are you low-income and pregnant?
Have you left TANF for work or your time limits expired.
Do you have high medical bills and cannot pay.
Are you elderly or have a disability?
