Brady
and Tyler Cluck
During the delivery
of Brady Cluck, his umbilical cord separated from his body, causing
him to hemorrhage.
Doctors knew they had to act quickly
if Brady had a chance to live. Within 12 minutes, an emergency team was
assembled to perform an emergency C-Section. He was revived, but his
difficulties had just begun. Brady had no heartbeat and was not breathing.
His pediatrician spent 10 minutes desperately trying to revive Brady
with CPR. He lost massive amounts of blood and was placed on a ventilator.
Brady’s prognosis was not good. He was fortunate to be alive, but
he was still not breathing.
Later doctors discovered
that Brady had suffered from a condition that only affects one in 400,000
infants. Against all odds, Brady recovered
and was able to breathe on his own. Remarkably, Brady and his mother
had no complications after their recovery. Brady is now a happy and healthy
three-year-old. Thanks to Children’s Miracle Network, the proper
equipment was available to save Brady’s life.
Brady has benefited
from Children’s Miracle Network in other ways
than just equipment. When his baby brother, Tyler, was born, he attended
sibling classes that taught him how to be a good big brother and about
the changes that would happen with an infant in his house. The materials
for the sibling class are furnished by Children’s Miracle Network.
Every child born at Hendrick Medical Center is a miracle, and each is
touched by Children’s Miracle Network in so many ways.
Brady and Tyler are
just two of the miracles seen at Hendrick Medical Center each year.
By pledging
to support Children’s Miracle Network,
you can touch the lives of children all over the Texas Midwest just like
Brady and Tyler. Funds donated benefit Meek Children’s Hospital,
Hendrick Center for Rehabilitation and other children’s services
throughout Hendrick.
