Health Initiatives
Hendrick actively initiates programs and campaigns designed to address specific health needs of the community. These six community health initiatives are actively serving to positively impact community health:
- The Friendship House - A platform for building mutually enhancing relationships for the health & welfare of our community
- Advance Directives - A campaign to ensure individuals' rights to treatment preferences before needing such care
- Diabetes - Certified Diabetes Self-Management Program addresses this growing epidemic in our community
- Breast Cancer - The Hope Fund assures that no woman in our community goes without a mammogram
- Childhood Obesity - Abilene Right Weigh Project involves community sectors in developing a roadmap for solutions
- Tobacco Cessation - Ongoing, free education in support of a smoke-free community
