Congregational Healthcare Liaison
Benefitting the Health of Our Community

  • What is it?
A way to assist the members of a congregation in accessing preventive health education services and in navigating the healthcare system. Finding the “keys to the castle”
  • Who is it?
    • One or two members of a congregation who will serve as healthcare resources for the church.
    • They will receive training and sufficient information about Hendrick and its continuum of care to be able to assist members as needed. Quarterly workshops will be held to keep them apprised of education and prevention opportunities as well as changes in and additions to the system’s continuum of care.
    • Liaisons have direct contact with the case management department to assist them as needed.
    • A manual of resources is provided and updated at each meeting.
    • Liaisons do not provide clinical care; they direct members to appropriate resources.
  • What do churches do?
    • Identify the one or two individuals from the congregation to recommend for this role and let us contact and invite them to an orientation
  • What do we do? The rest! Contact Norm Archibald or Helen Teague for more information.
