Observation Requirements
For Students and Other Observers
Hendrick Health System welcomes many types of students and observers in our facilities. In order to protect our patients, employees and students, our policies include the following requirements for students and observers who must be at least 17 years of age:
- Criminal background check with a company whom Hendrick Health System designates
- Urine drug screening
- Immunization history
- Flu vaccine (during flu season)
- Tuberculin skin test
- On-campus orientation
Please do not begin any of these processes until a member of the Hendrick Department of Education and Professional Development has contacted you. Hendrick does not perform screenings, nor does it provide reimbursement for any costs associated with the above requirements. Placement is dependent upon availability of Hendrick employees and associated licensed independent practitioners.
In order for students to receive school credit during their time at Hendrick, an affiliation agreement between Hendrick and the learning institution must be in place prior to meeting the above requirements. If a current agreement is not in place, Hendrick can potentially generate one. This legal process may take several months to complete. If you have questions/concerns regarding an affiliation agreement, please state in the comments section of the online request form.
*Current Hendrick Health System employees completed these requirements upon hire but are still required to complete the form below and must have completed annual mandatory Joint Commission training.
