Hendrick Benefit Summary
Hendrick offers a variety of affordable benefits to our employees and their families. All Full Time employees are eligible for voluntary plans and health insurance coverage the first day of the month following 90 days of employment.

Health Insurance Plan - Our medical insurance includes two plans: Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) & Health Maintenance Organization (HMO). This is offered to the employee at a minimal cost.

Basic Group Life Insurance - HHS pays premiums for the employee for term life insurance at the value of one and one-half times the employee's annual base salary. This benefit also includes coverage for accidental death and dismemberment.

Portable Life Insurance - Voluntary plans are available for employees to purchase additional, portable universal or term life insurance for themselves and/or dependent family members.

Dental & Vision Plan - Optional coverages available.

Long Term Disability Plan (LTD) - Premiums are based on employee's age and annual salary.

Short Term Disability Plan - Premiums are based on employee's age and annual salary.

Cancer/ICU - Several options are available. Premiums are dependant upon options selected.

Critical Illness - Premiums depend on employee's age and coverage selected. This coverage is portable.

Flexible Spending Accounts - This program allows all employees to pay certain unreimbursed medical and dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars.

Annuity/Retirement Plan - All employees specified as eligible through the plan documents. Enrollment is available upon employment. Long term savings plans allowing employees to plan for post-employment years. Employees may participate by contributing a portion of their annual salary on a tax sheltered or tax paid basis. Employer will match employee's contribution up to 3% upon completion of 1,000, one year of service and age 21 years. GuideStone.org.

Paid Time Off - All employees classified as full-time who have completed 90 days of continuous employment are eligible for Paid Time Off.  An eligible employee will begin accruing PTO at the beginning of the payperiod following their 90 day anniversary date. PTO is a flexible benefit plan combining traditional days off such as vacation, holidays and sick time into one program.

Extended Illness Bank - All employees classified as full-time who have completed 90 days of continuous employment are eligible for Extended Illness Bank.  An eligible employee will begin accruing EIB at the beginning of the payperiod following their 90 day anniversary date. Upon accrual, employees may access their EIB for personal illness or injury, or family illness after 16 consecutively scheduled work hours missed. Access is immediate upon personal hospitalization, outpatient surgery or maternity leave. Hours are accrued based on tenure and hours worked per pay period. The accrual schedule is as follows:

Bereavement Leave - This benefit is available to fulltime employees upon employment, and within policy guidelines. Eligible employees receive compensation at their base rate for time lost from regularly scheduled work hours due to the death of a family member.

Jury and Witness Duty Leave - This benefit is available to employees upon employment, and within policy guidelines. Eligible employees receive compensation at their base rate for time lost from regularly scheduled hours due to active jury and/or time lost due to summons as witness for the benefit of HMC.

Leave of Absence - All employees meeting policy guidelines are eligible based on criteria outlined in each leave policy - Military Leave, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and Personal Leave of Absence.

Holiday Pay - Non-exempt (hourly) employees are eligible upon employment. Additional compensation is provided for positions scheduled to work on the actual holiday: Christmas, New Years, Thanksgiving, Labor Day, Independence Day, Good Friday and Memorial Day.

Differential Pay - Additional compensation is available to designated positions scheduled to work certain hours or on weekends.

Discounts - Employees will receive the prevailing discount when purchasing food in the cafeteria.

Employee Health Services - The Employee Health Dept. offers a variety of immunizations & injections including but not limited to Hepatitis B, annual TB screenings, sannual HIC screening, blood pressure assessment, flu vaccines, etc.

Hendrick Health Club - Hendrick Health Club is located adjacent to the medical center providing employees a discounted membership rate. Services include certified personal trainers, group exercise programs, aerobic & training equipment, etc.

ProCare Worker Injury Program - All employees are eligible upon employment. The ProCare program provides for payment of medical expenses and partial salary continuation in the event of a work-related injury or illness approved for coverage under the program.

Employee Service Awards - Hendrick recognizes employees' dedication and loyalty to Hendrick and affiliates. Awards are presented annually to employees who have reached eligible milestones.
