Skilled Nurses (RNs and LVNs) – Registered nurses provide patient/family assessment and formulate a personalized plan of care for the patient’s individualized needs. The plan of treatment is coordinated with other disciplines involved in their care and the attending physician. These nurses perform physical assessments, procedures and treatments in the home.

Physical Therapists – Physical therapy includes rehabilitative treatment to restore the patient to his or her maximum level of physical capabilities. Physical therapists do assessments and suggest exercises to aid in recovery.

Occupational Therapists – Occupational therapy provides activities designed to improve physical and psychosocial functioning including the instruction of the patient and family in adaptive equipment usage.

Speech Therapy – Speech therapy involves treatment for communication and swallowing disorders and instructing patient, family and other healthcare staff in methods of speech and language improvement.

Social Workers – Medical/Social services are provided to help the patient and family adjust to illness and/or treatments and to facilitate referrals to community resources as appropriate. Services include: financial, transportation assistance, counseling including religious and spiritual concerns.

Registered Dietician – Registered dietician services are available when the client’s need indicates. A dietician is available to consult with staff as needed.

Durable Medical Equipment – Arrangements will be made with the patient’s choice of a provider for any equipment needs inn the home, i.e., beds and IV pumps. If the patient prefers, arrangements can be made with Hendrick Medical Supply.

Pharmaceuticals - Arrangements will be made with the pharmacy of the patient’s choice for medications ordered by the physicians. Hendrick Professional Pharmacy is owned and operated by Hendrick Medical Center.

Home Health Aides – Our home health aides are Certified Nurse Assistants and work under the direction of a registered nurse. The staff is assigned according to the patient’s specific needs. The home health aide can perform personal care, i.e., bathing, nail care, and can attend to light housekeeping such as light meal preparation. RNs conduct supervisory visits every two weeks.
