Qualifying for Services

A physician must order the home services and it be deemed medically necessary and reasonable to the particular illness and / or injury. To qualify for home health services, Medicare, Medicaid and insurance companies require that the patient have a skilled need and a physician's order. Medicare and some private insurance companies require the patient to meet the homebound criteria.

Examples of homebound would be:

• Leaving home would require a considerable taxing effort
• Requires assistance from others and / or the use of an assistive device
