College Credit
Two courses are currently offered at Hendrick Medical Center for college academic credit through Hardin-Simmons, Abilene Christian, and McMurry Universities.
"Introduction to Hospital Ministry" is an undergraduate course for students to begin integrating theology, psychology, and education in a clinical setting. Preference is given to ministry students for the ten available slots. Other disciplines are allowed if room is available.
"Healthcare Ministry" is a graduate course for students to further develop their individualized goals in health care ministry and to engage health care professionals about the needs of various patients and their families. Students are encouraged to take Clinical Pastoral Education to further their educational development.
Summer Internship
A 10-week summer internship if offered to a student who wishes to have special individualized training over the summer months. A stipend is provided. Applications are due by April 10. Contact the Pastoral Care office for more information.
