Pulmonary Rehabilitation is an individually
tailored, multidisciplinary program formulated through diagnosis, therapy,
emotional support and education. The goal is to stabilize or reverse
both the physio- and psychopathology of pulmonary diseases in an effort
to return the patient to the highest possible functional capacity allowed
by his or her pulmonary handicap and overall life situation.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation is designed to help
control and alleviate, as much as possible, the symptoms and pathophysiologic
complications of pulmonary diseases and to teach the patient, family
and/or significant others how to achieve optimal capability for carrying
out his or her activities of daily living.
To accomplish these objectives the Pulmonary
Rehabilitation program uses a multidisciplinary approach that utilizes
the expertise of several health professionals including:
| Physicians |
Respiratory Therapists |
Physical Therapist |
| R.N. – Case Management |
