Pediatric Rehabiliation
Pediatric rehabilitation at Hendrick Center for Rehabilitation is dedicated to providing high quality care for children ranging in ages from birth to 18 years old. We offer physical, occupational and speech therapy. Our therapists provide care in schools, homes and in our clinic. All of our licensed therapists have attained advanced degrees in their specialty areas. Our therapists are dedicated to assisting the children in recovering and advancing some of the basic skills of life. Children with a range of diagnoses such as Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Delays, Reading and Literacy Delays, Genetic Disorders, Down Syndrome, Sensory Integration Disorders, Torticollis, Stuttering and other Fluency Disorders, are treated at Hendrick Center for Rehabilitation. Such programs as HERO allow us to use an alternative method of therapy to treat your children.
Physical Therapy
Our physical therapists are dedicated to improving and enhancing your child’s ability to participate in day to day activities at home, school or in the community. Our therapists assist with learning to walk, crawl, run and participate in sports or games along with many other activities. We have therapists who are certified in custom casting for braces for your children. Our therapists also work with companies to fit your child with wheelchairs and other mobility aids.
Occupational Therapy
Our occupational therapists are dedicated to helping your child develop life skills such as self help, hygiene and other basic skills. They also assist with sensory integration and organizing and planning motor skills.
Speech Therapy
Our speech therapists help children with such problems as stuttering, swallowing, language and speech. Communications is one of the most important skills a child can have and we strive to teach your child effective ways to communicate verbally or sign language. The therapists strive to make your children independent language learners.
HERO
HERO stands for Hendrick Equine Rehabilitation Opportunities (hippotherapy). The term hippotherapy means treatment with the help of the horse. Specially trained therapists use the therapeutic treatment for clients with cognitive, physical and emotional disabilities. Therapists use the movement of the horse as a means to create more normal movements in the patient. It develops balance, strength, endurance and coordination. This program is not just for children and also can be beneficial to adults.
