Having a baby is a special event, and Hendrick Medical Center offers an array of services to make having a baby a memorable occasion. Hendrick Medical Center is delighted that you are planning to share one of the most wonderful experiences of your life with us. No matter if it’s your first baby or your fifth, this is an important event. We want to take the opportunity to acquaint you with our services, facilities and philosophy about this special time.

Early planning and pre-registering for your hospital admission will promote a smooth transition when it is time to delivery your baby. We understand that having a baby, while it is a very special time, can impose some significant financial considerations. When it is time to go to the hospital:
The birth process – labor, delivery and recovery- takes place in one of our uniquely designed and soothing private maternity suites. Labor and Delivery also houses two Cesarean birth suites.

Upon arrival to the Labor and Delivery unit, you will be assessed by specially trained nurses. The nurses and physicians will work in collaboration to determine the best care for you and your baby.

A Special Time for Your Family
At Hendrick Medical Center, we know the birth of a baby is a major event for your whole family. This is why we recommend family-centered maternity care and are committed to providing the personalized experience you desire.

We encourage family involvement in planning and delivering care. We strive to provide an individualized approach that meets all your needs. We want you to be as comfortable and secure as possible.

When your baby arrives, you are welcome to share your baby with family and friends at your convenience. Our flexible visitation policy means that it’s up to you who visits and when.

During your recovery, you and your baby will move to the newly remodeled Mothercare Unit. Here your family will experience personalized care given by a nurse who cares for both you and your baby. We also offer the services of two lactation consultants.
